Small Modular Reactors

In EURAD 2, SITEX.network members are involved in the Work Package FORSAFF dedicated to SMR waste management. Tasks 5 and 6 in particular are respectively meant to address the regulatory framework related to SMR waste management and develop recommendations for transparent information to the public.

This Activity will serve as a TSO think tank addressing notably FORSAFF aspects.

In fact, in this activity it was proposed to focus on the safety and radiation protection for the RWM of the principal types of reactors and to analyse the staffing and educational gap together with the implication of civil society. It was also considered reasonable to focus on the main types of SMRs prototypes and to follow to outcome of the exchanges within the EC SMR industrial  alliance.
