Multiple “S”
Several meetings took place already for this new activity helping to clarify its scope and providing initial contributions as well as a roadmap for further work. The activity was introduced in the IAEA TSO Conference in December 2025. Several participants to this conference stressed that this activity is innovative, as it goes beyond the general 3S considered in the community (Safety, Security, Safeguards).
- Why – Elaboration of a SITEX.Network’s vision on the 5S interrelations identifying potential conflicts, gains and challenges of a 5S integrated RWM – Safety, Security, Safeguard, Sustainability, Society
- What – A short document, 10-15 pages, covering all categories of waste, with 3 parts as follows:
- 1.general/generic overview, setting the scene, based on a small literature study (definition, concepts, key interfaces…)
- 2.practical case studies
- 3.dynamisms at stake
- Who/How – Literature review during this summer by sub-groups, on :
- sustainability-society (definition, concepts, sustainability-society interfaces as well as interfaces with other S…): Gabriele, Alexis, Wilfried, Doncho
- safeguards : contribution by Bo
- safety-security-safeguards (definition, concepts, interfaces): Valéry, Delphine
- A list of references can be shared and then review work spread: need for a numerical tool to share files. https://sitexnetwork.sharepoint.com/sites/MultipleS2
