Training

The pilot session implemented in 2017 by SITEX proved that training on how to review a safety case for geological disposal makes sense so as to develop skills, to support knowledge transfer over generation as well as between less and more advanced programmes. A series of 3 modules dealing with regulatory requirements and expectations, safety assessment (operation, post-closure, site, engineering, management system) and advanced issues (research program supporting the expertise, uncertainty management, optimization, interaction will civil society…) will take place over a 2-year cycle, with great emphasis given to practical learning. It will be provided by SITEX.Network members and operated by ENSTTI. Module 1 is planned from 9-13 March 2020. A detailed syllabus of module 1 you can find here.

Fortunately, the training course was successfully completed by all participants before the Corona lockdown in Europe.
